  Went to the Brewers today for their £10 two course lunch, and discovered it was only £8 for pensioners. Thought this is a good deal. Ordered cod and chips with peas, when it came it was frozen battered fish, felt really disappointed as I would not even buy that for my own consumption at home. Cut into the fish and thought it looked grey, pulled back the batter and the inside was just a wet and non appetizing flop. The lady that was serving us came over and asked if everything was ok, so I told her in my own words what I thought, she offered to replace it by I declined. She then came back to say that I would not be charged, but I said that was fine and I was quite happy to pay for what I had eaten., but she insisted. Never thought anymore about it, I had the dessert for which I would of insisted on paying for anyway,and it was really nice. Unfortunately I left my husband to go and pay, (ladies never leave it to a man!) On our way home I asked if the meal had been adjusted, he said NO in fact we had been charged £10 instead of the £8 for us pensioners. Really disappointed as we have had some really lovely meals in the Brewers and always found the staff very helpful and obliging. Will go there again but will definitely not have the cod and chips!!!
